      • Working on NSS Chapter report. Submission of the Charter report on time qualified SacL5 for an award.

      • There’s a new page in town.
      • This page is intended to collect notes on activities of all the NSS Chapters. Ed Kulis will reach out to other chapters to get information on the locations of their websites and the notes they would like to publish.
      • Ed will also ask that Chapters create a page like this on their website to foster mutual awareness and communication. 
      • Email Ed Kulis if you would like to talk about adding your chapters info to this page.

  • NSS Chapters Assembly Notes
    
    • The International Space Development Conference is approaching, this year In Los Angeles at the Sheraton Gateway Los Angeles Hotel Thursday, May 23rd to Sunday, May 26th, 2024
    • NOTE: NSS Chapters Committee(CC) vs NSS Chapters Assembly(CA)
      
      • The NSS Chapters Committee is the formal NSS governing body for NSS Chapters. The CC establishes rules regarding recognition of a group as a NSS Chapter and how NSS receives and acts on input from NSS Chapters. A loose analogy is that NSS Chapters are “franchised” by NSS and must conform to standards and practices set by the CA.
      • The NSS Chapters Assembly is a association of interested representatives from different NSS Chapters. The CA proposes changes and suggests novelty and improvements to the CC and the NSS. They also vet any CA rule changes that might impede Chapters recruitment, visibility, activities and access to key NSS contacts.
    •  NSS Headquarters at the Cape offers tours of Kennedy Space Center 
    • There were about 12 people in the March meeting. Discussions of Outreach, Space X 3 Starship orbit, Indian Space programs, and the Chairman of the meeting.

  • Joe Bland will follow up with the Sacramento School of Science and Engineering to determine their activity in anticipation of the next JP Aerospace MiniCube balloon flight.

    • Traveling any where near the speed of light might require more fuel to shield against space debris than for propulsion. Generation ships might be a better solution if a self sustaining system is developed.
