The Contra Costa County Science & Engineering Fair is dedicated to providing a high-quality science & engineering regional competition that leads to state, national and international competitions.

It takes place each year during the month of March. A program of Bay Area LEEDS for almost two decades, the event has been hosted by Los Medanos College in Pittsburg since 2010. Without the regional fair, made possible only through support of businesses and the community, Contra Costa 7th-12th grade students would not have access to further competitions. The Regeneron-affiliated Science & Engineering Fair helps stimulate interest and enthusiasm in science. It also provides the opportunity to give public recognition to students for their achievements and encourages them to enter careers related to science, technology, engineering and math.

More than one hundred business partners volunteer to judge project boards and interview students to select those who move on to the California State Science Fair, the ThermoFisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge, and the International Science & Engineering Fair.

Ed Kulis of the Sacramento L5 Society has been accepted as Science Fair judge.
