Subject: Meeting Call & Agenda for 06/08/2024: Sacramento L5 Society

 Special Notice from Sacramento L5 Society President Joseph Bland:

If you can make this Saturday’s meeting at all, please try to do so. Our meetings are our best chance to get complete input from the membership. In this case, a matter has come up that appears like it may require a full membership vote. These are very rare, so I’m going to go through the process of how you can vote and how you can become eligible to vote.

1. These days, a SacL5 member can literally live anywhere and still be involved, since we now meet via Zoom.

2. To become a SacL5 member, all you have to do is either (a) be on this mailing list, (b) pay or have paid your yearly NSS dues, or (c) pay or have paid our yearly Sacramento L5 Society dues ($30). In return for that support, you get both the responsibility and the privilege of voting!

3. Since I have no way of knowing whether or not you are an NSS member, a vote call will be sent to the whole mailing list.*

4. From the day that email is sent out by me, one week is allowed for votes to be submitted back to me, ending at midnight one week later.

5. Votes should be emailed to me, Joseph Bland, at [email protected]. You can do this by choosing “Reply” to the vote call email, since that is the address the vote call will come from.

6. You can change your vote, but again, the change has to get to me before the week is up.
7. A simple majority is all that’s required for a vote to pass, unless it’s to change the bylaws, which this isn’t.

*(If you do become a new NSS member, please remember to give us “credit” for your membership! Email me back and I’ll tell you how it’s done. Or if you’d prefer to just pay SacL5 dues, I’ll be happy to help with that as well.)

    I didn’t get a chance to talk about Donna and myself attended the ISDC at the last meeting, so lots to report about that. Also, I briefly attended California Aerospace Days Wednesday afternoon, so we have that to talk about as well.
