Listen to Me Now and Believe Me Later

Listen…

When you hear an idea about AI that sounds upside down, backward, impractical, or just plain strange, resist the temptation to correct it before you’ve heard the whole thing.

We are entering a time when some of our most familiar assumptions about how ideas become reality may no longer apply.

Until recently, having an idea and building something from it were two very different undertakings. Between them stood expertise, resources, tools, time, and often a great deal of money.

AI is dramatically changing that distance.

You can now take an idea, build a working example, discover what’s wrong with it, change it, and try again—sometimes in minutes.

That doesn’t mean your first idea was wrong. It doesn’t mean the unusual idea is right. And it certainly doesn’t mean you should abandon your experience, judgment, or common sense.

It means we have a new way to find out.

So when something sounds strange, hear it through. Before arguing about whether it will work, consider building a small version and seeing what happens.

You don’t have to believe me now.

In fact, you don’t have to believe me later.

Build something. Then we’ll both know a little more.
